MedEquine® "The Triple Crown of Equine Health"
Summer & Girth Itch,
Microbial & Fungal Infections,
Insect & Parasite bites
by Linda Lyles
Equine industry, veterinarians turn to MedEquine®, a locally developed horse treatment that's poised to go global.
A serious medicine for serious problems.

World-renowned trainer, John Rannenberg of Ocala's famed Rohara Arabians, owned by Karl and Roxann Hart, faced a problem that is a nightmare for any trainer. A rare skin condition plagued a valuable horse Rohara Arabians had just purchased. Prescribed treatments weren't working. A possible rare skin disorder causing discoloration, hair loss, and possible scarring could prevent valuable breeding, showing and marketing potential. Rannenberg was at a loss. His search for a safe and effective treatment led him to University of Florida's Dr. Edgar Ott, Professor of Animal Sciences. Ott came to the rescue with MedEquine® by Embro Research Corporation. Ott, who uses MedEquine® knew of its safe and highly effective anti-fungal action. After only one week Rannenberg was delighted to see the condition remarkably improved and within a month the horse was in top condition. Rannenberg states "MedEquine® is the first treatment I will use for any of our horses' problems which are usually caused by Florida's hot humid climate. I feel great knowing this medicine is safe enough for my handlers to apply, yet strong enough to bring unprecedented results. Some other treatment options afforded us can disqualify a horse from a show and diminish their fine bloodlines. MedEquine® solves all these problems."

Meanwhile not far away, Glenda Adkins of Jag Farms of Orange Lake was distraught by a fungal infection that caused the unsightly loss of hair and mane of her beloved mare.
The only treatment available contains potent pesticides that Adkins says dare not come in contact with her own skin. "Owning horses may be an excellent business here, but there's the flip side. The ever present skin problems like fungus, bacteria and parasites are aggravated by central Florida's warm, humid climate. They often cause pain and suffering to the animals. This results in biting, rubbing, and scratching of the skin leading to expensive treatment for their owners. In many cases, conventional treatments trigger serious side effects such as blisters, bleeding, allergic reactions and hair loss diminishing a horse's health and value."

Rusty Etherington of Sleepy Hollow Farms is grateful for the help received from MedEquine®.

Rusty Etherington of Sleepy Hollow Farms Inc. teaches English Riding. "In my riding business, I encounter problems such as girth itch and saddle sores. I constantly battle insects and parasites. MedEquine® helps to repel biting insects and has proven to be most highly effective treatment. I have found. I use it faithfully with confidence. I like knowing that my horses are receiving the safest treatment I can give them."
MedEquine® has been successfully used on ringworm, a condition that can be lengthy and expensive to treat, often without a positive result. Reports of its ability to repel insects create excitement here in Florida. Other skin conditions caused by girth itch, summer itch, saddle sores, papilla warts, parasitic irritations, and bacterial, fungal and viral infections and being successfully treated and prevented with MedEquine®.
Developed by Dr. William J. Embro of Gainesville, MedEquine® meets the highest safety standards Embro himself has set for his company. "I am really tough on setting a standard for my product and I will not deviate from it," says Embro.
Considered a medical breakthrough that has received widespread publicity, more than 10 years and $1.5 million has already been invested by Embro (a graduate of the Universities of Florida and North Carolina). His scientific team includes Charles Sloughfy who spent 30 years with SmithKline and Beecham's worldwide clinical operations and Dr. Thomas Blake (formerly in charge of regulatory issues at SmithKline, Schering-Plough, and CIBA-GEICY).
MedEquine® has been formulated specifically to treat skin ailments that plague horses. Manufactured by a patented process at a pharmaceutical lab in South Florida, it has quickly proven itself in actual use and is poised to make a major breakthrough in the equine industry worldwide.
Horse owners, trainers and veterinarians have participated in MedEquine® studies and report that after applying MedEquine®, their horses' hair, mane and skin were in better condition than before treatment.
Says trainer John Rannenberg, "MedEquine® worked quickly and effectively. I have never seen anything work so well without any side effects."
Reports continue to pour in telling of the incredible success stories. George Gleason of Glendridge Farms uses MedEquine® and states, "It really helped the problem I have with warts on my foals. I no longer resort to cutting or burning the lesions which can scar the animal."
ERC Veterinary Division is working on many new delivery systems such as sprays and pretreated bandages making MedEquine® even easier to apply. Their research and development has led them to other formulated patented products for the veterinary industry that work on the skin and coat problems of cats, dogs and other domesticated animals. ERC Veterinary Division will continue its research to meet the need and demand of animal lovers everywhere.
